What to do if you are uncomfortable with asking for help?

When you get your period, it feels like a strange experience. You may feel like nobody can relate to you and that it’s weird to talk about it. You may even feel embarrassed to ask for help, but that’s really normal. Middle school or late elementary is where girls usually get their periods, and the average age to get one is 10-16 years old [1]. Remember that you aren’t alone when getting a period and that many girls around you may have the same experience. When you want to ask for help from a teacher, remember that they are trained and know that some girls in their classes have periods. So next time you feel uncomfortable about asking for help, remember that you aren’t alone.
